Arvada Days Kids Fishing Contest

Join us for the 2nd Annual Arvada Days where we invite you to take a walk back in time to those earliest days of Arvada.  Arvada has a long history in the Denver metro area and was a key community to our State’s gold mining history, earlier farming communities and helping to make Colorado the prosperous state that it is today!  We’ll step back in time to the mid-1800s (1850-1900) and celebrate the rich history that Arvada holds while also sharing those activities of the era and helping our community learn first-hand what it was like to live in Arvada during the “golden days.”

This event will kick-off Saturday with a chuck wagon breakfast (biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, coffee, juice) and then head into a full day of festival activities including: Kids Fishing Contest, historical reenactments, pony rides, gold panning, kids activities and more!

Fishing Contest Age Groups, check in times and contest schedule:

5-8 year olds : Contest 10:00am - 10:45am, Please check in from 9:30-9:50am

9-12 year olds : Contest 11:00 - 11:45am, Please check in from 10:30 - 10:50am

13-15 year olds : Contest 12:00 - 12:45pm, Please check in from 11:30 - 11:50am

Rules & Regulations:

• Clear Creek Valley Park Fishing is a catch and release. 
• A volunteer from Arvada Festivals Commission (AFC) will quickly measure your fish, record the length and then release.
• AFC will provide all fishing poles and bait for contest (Courtesy of Colorado Fish & Game)
• No one over the age of 15 or under the age of 5, are allowed to fish during contest times
• Ribbons will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each age division
• This is a free event, however you must register here to participate.
